Holiday Fundraiser Bazaar

In December, Creations by Christina had the opportunity to participate in a Holiday Fundraiser Bazaar at City Hill Church. It was so much fun and it a wonderful way to participate in a great fundraiser. There were many who ventured out despite the winter snow storm we faced that day. Thanks to all who came out!!! Flower Headbands

The latest creation I have been working on this week has been headbands for cute little babies. I have been inspired by my friend Poly, who is an amazing photographer, to make cute accessories for the babies she photographs! Along with shooting adorable kids, she is also very talented with couples for their engagement and wedding photos. Click here to check out her incredible photos!

Shabby Chic Workshop

I was able to go to the Shabby Chic Card Workshop at Archiver's this morning with my sister-in-law, Aanna. I really enjoyed my time in this class today. So far, it has been my favorite class to take there. I love the Shabby Chic style! There is something about crafting that takes your mind off of things while you work. I really enjoy spending time making things and have developed a love of crafting. I have included some photos from our time at Archiver's today!

We were hard at work!

Here we used Stickles and Crackle Paint to our flowers. We needed to do these first because it takes quite awhile for these products to dry. Here are my 8 flowers I picked for my cards.

The start os some of my cards.

This card I was working on was called the "So Glad You're In My Life" and this is a photo of the chandelier stamp with gold paint on it.

Time to get the butterfly ready to stamp all over the card.

The card is almost complete. I was able to give this card a more distressed look by painting the edges and having the stamp of the chandelier not be too defined. I've added Stickles to give it some sparkle.

Now it's time to move onto the "You Make Good Times Great" card. At this point I dabbed on some Juniper paint to the feather stamp.

These photo shows adding the ferns to the feathers and about to put the dragonfly on the card.

The dragonfly stamp moved a lot as I put it down and I ended up making the dragonflies a little bit more blurred than I would have liked but it's nothing that a little Stickles can't fix...

Time to add the gems. Gotta have the sparkle.

Here is the final product of my "Wishing You Love and Laughter" card with the flowers and brad added to the card.

And the "You Make Good Times Great" Card with the saying and flowers added.

It was a super class and I will highly recommend this class! It was an easy class to follow along in and I love the final product. I don't think I can pick my favorite card!

Thank You Card

For this Thank You card I used a stamp, some ribbon, raised paper and a pop up dot. I used some cutters to round off the corners of the tan piece of paper and then a different cutter to cut out the shape of the oval paper. With the oval I stamped my thanks on it and glued the oval down to the tan paper. I glued down the raised green paper and ribbon down with glue dots and then stuck on the pop up dot on the tan paper to give it extra dimension. This is a simple way to create your very own Thank You cards for those in your life. Here is the final product.

Valentine's Day Cards

With Valentine's just around the corner. Here are some of the cards that I made for Valentine's Day during a workshop at Archiver's. It was a fun class that I went to with my sister-in-law, Aanna. We always enjoy these classes. Hope you have a LOVEly Valentine's Day with those you cherish!

Hand Salt Scrub

I was able to make some hand salt scrub for gifts to give some special people in my life. These are some of the pictures to document what I made.

Starting out with the epsom salt in the jars.

I'm checking the mixture consistency and think more salt could be added.

The consistency is getting thicker...

Now it's time for the scents to be added. Here I am counting the drops...talk about concentration you would think I'm on a game show trying to win a million dollars with that concentration.

Testing it out. I had the expert flown in to test the softness of the mixture! Here is my beautiful expert!

She seems to be enjoying it!

Now it's my turn. The smell, the feel and the consistency seem just right!

Look at that softness. If only you could feel...it's smooth like butter or baby's skin!

For my classroom I created a birthday wall for my students. I made this caterpillar with each circle or segment to represent each month. Then I made fruit that the caterpillar eats to show each student's birthday. It was a fun project to create for my classroom.

These are some Happy Birthday cards that I made. The bottom one I made at a free Archiver's make and take. I was able to learn a new trick of taking a sticker and making the back side not sticky. Then after the back is not a sticker anymore, I stuck a pop up dot to give it more dimension. These cards I used brads, flower cut outs, circle cut outs, buttons, stamps, stickers and jewels.

Just Because Cards

These are some cards that I made just for fun. These cards have been for a "just because" card for others in my life. To make these cards I used a variety of things ranging from stamps, to flowers, jewels and buttons. I also used a special cutter to create the inside edge of the red card.

Faith Word Necklaces

Now these necklaces are not quite done yet. I'm still working on these for the special women in my life. :o) I asked these women in my life what their favorite faith word was and favorite color. With these necklaces I had a vision for them but didn't know quite how I wanted to put them together until yesterday. I've been searching on the web for some of these words on little charms for quite some time. Then when I went to a local store yesterday I decided to create my own charm and write these words on the charms. With a love for scrapbooking I already had some of the resources I needed to do this project. I cut out tiny circles of paper to fit the little charm and then I wrote on the paper. After that I glued the little pieces of paper on the charm using special glue. Then I used another glue that dries on smooth so it looks like a "store finish". Next I worked on making the beads to attach to the charm. The little wires were a little tricky to twist around but it worked with the right tools! I'm still searching for the perfect sterling silver chains to display these charms. I'll keep you posted with the final product.

Gem Necklaces

For Christmas I made a few necklaces for those special ladies in my life. I found some beautiful stones at Gem Mall a great resource with an abundance of stones and other necessities for making jewelry. It took me many hours to find those special stones for the fabulous women in my life. After picking the stones and waiting for them to come in the mail I jetted off to a local store to gather the rest of my supplies for making the necklaces. Here is a photo of the final products I made!
